oi lady! i did say i liked the time delay- visual effect- bleurgh!!! was fun to play with! you know i hate special effects...and we ain't having none of it! (don't even ask...!)

Yeah, my reaction to your first one was to put that question to you: WHY you wanted to do it. :) But of course, I also know how much fun this stuff is to play with. Just tough to find a smart, good reason for using it. I still struggle with this and it's easy to get distracted. ('oo! look! pretty light! multiple images of meeee wheeling back into the depths of...? Woah....pass the bong, man.')

i think the seduction of effects-style over content- is an interesting debate.i have always flinched at the use of the generic effects by vjs who lazily and arrogantly assume their 'music'audience to not have any visual awareness and will be wowed (see a fractal/mirror/solarise effect and i'm out the door)
this speaker today, theatre director anne bogart talked about the importance of not losing the spirit of performance through use of technology (and more specifically high-end tech) within it.

however good a reason i'm not in on the totally 'one click' effects, but with some artistic intregrity fit to purpose, am open to it!
